Discipleship House
The bible chair has a campus house in which 3 to 4 male students who are seminary bound live in Christian community as they prepare for a life of ministry.
These men meet together with Jon and a broader group of like-minded individuals every Thursday morning for a weekly meeting of the “Dead Theologians Society.” Jon firmly believes that we can learn more from dead theologians than we can from the living. Thus, he chooses books for the group to study that have been well read for over a hundred years. Some of the books that the group has read include: The Confessions, by Augustine of Hippo The Bondage of the Will, by Martin Luther Our Reasonable Faith, by Herman Bavinck Biblical Theology of the Old and New Testaments, by Gerhardus Vos George Whitefield: God’s Anointed Servant in the Great Revival of the Eighteenth Century, by Arnold Dalimore Soul Winner, by Charles Spurgeon Preachers and Preaching, by Martin Lloyd Jones |
